EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern Field Hockey continues to shine on the national stage, with goalkeeper Annabel Skubisz named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week and Nadia Nemeth earning Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors, the conference announced today.

Skubisz, a graduate student from Houston, Texas (The Kinkaid School), secured her eighth career Defensive Player of the Week award and second of the season. She leads the nation with a .955 save percentage and a remarkable 0.17 goals against average. Over the weekend, she notched her seventh shutout of the season with four saves in Northwestern’s 5-0 victory over No. 4 Iowa, and matched her season-high with eight saves in a 1-0 win against Indiana.
First-Year Nadia Nemeth (Great Valley High School, Malvern, PA) earned her first career Big Ten Freshman of the Week recognition after making her first two career starts in Northwestern’s weekend sweep. Nemeth was a key part of the Wildcats’ offense, helping secure crucial oppourtunities that maintain the team’s undefeated record.
