After falling into an early two-goal hole, Northwestern battled valiantly but was unable to find its way back in a 2-1 defeat against No. 19 Maryland this past Friday at Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium. Christopher Thaggard netted his first goal of the season in the 64th minute of play. Luke Shreiner and Collin McCamy were credited with assists on Thaggard’s tally.

Most recently, the Spartans knocked off No. 15 UCLA, 1-0, this past Friday at Wallis Annenberg Stadium in Los Angeles, Calif. Jonathan Stout scored just 85 seconds in to give the visitors a lead they would not relinquish.
Michigan State holds a 2-2-1 (.500) record at DeMartin Stadium this season, boasting 1-0 wins over Villanova and league newcomer Washington on its home field.

Zac Kelly has started in all nine games in goal, playing in all but 19 minutes of game action. After piling up five shutouts in 2023, Kelly already owns three clean sheets this season.
