Kim Nam-joon, better known as RM, is again capturing the hearts of BTS’s ARMY with his words and actions.
On Tuesday, November 5, the 30-year-old K-pop sensation dropped the trailer for his highly anticipated documentary RM: Right People, Wrong Place.
The behind-the-scenes compilation featured the BTS leader in various moments, from intense studio sessions to performing on massive global stages and enjoying some well-deserved downtime with friends.
At one point in the trailer, he asks aloud, “What does it mean to be a K-pop star at 30 years old?”
Reflecting on BTS’s journey, RM highlights that the group thrived by pushing boundaries and remaining undefined, “Not being defined as anything also means you can become anything.”
RM shares to apply the same philosophy to his solo journey, “I’ve always pushed my limits,” he adds, as footage of him in the studio plays. “I try to see how honest I can be with myself, as RM or as Kim Nam-joon.”
His words resonated with fans, who expressed their feelings in the comments section.
“It’s so touching to see Namjoon share his personal thoughts and feelings… I can’t wait to see it in theatres!” one fan wrote.
Others praised his quote: “Not being defined as anything means you can become anything.”
“This is why I love BTS and RM. It breaks my heart that, to this day, people (including some fans) still try to box them into one thing. It’s unfair,” another fan commented.
Meanwhile, a third fan added, “WOW! Such beautiful words!! That hits deep.”
According to the press release accompanying the trailer, the film will chronicle the eight months RM spent writing and recording his second solo album, Right People, Wrong Place. In addition, it will shed light on the challenges he faces as a person offstage.
RM: Right People, Wrong Place is set to release globally in theatres on December 5 via CJ 4DPLEX.
