Former Arsenal star Theo Walcott has compared Chelsea star Cole Palmer to Gunners legend Dennis Bergkamp following his sensational performance against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League.
The west London giants registered a 4-2 win over the Seagulls at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Palmer stole the headlines by scoring a stupendous quadruple in the opening half. He could have easily scored six on another day.
Speaking after the game, Walcott compared Palmer with Bergkamp and Robin van Persie and added that he can’t be left out of any team at the moment including the England national side.
Walcott said: “He has got a bit of finesse, Bergkamp, Van Persie about him, and they weren’t bad at all.
“You can’t leave him out of any team, and I am talking about England too. The player himself though, had his eyes on more.”
Palmer has been in tremendous touch since his move to Stamford Bridge last year. He has 46 goal contributions from just 52 appearances for the Blues across all competitions.
His goal involvements put him into a world-class category and he could have a key role to play in the coming months as Chelsea look to assert their renewed dominance in the top-flight.
