The NFL season is seven weeks in, and No. 1 pick Caleb Williams is picking up steam.
His Chicago Bears have won three in a row — albeit against the Rams, Panthers and Jaguars — while averaging 31.7 points per game over the last three.
He’s also thrown seven touchdowns and one pick in those three wins, as opposed to the two TDs and four picks he threw in the Bears’ first three games, in which they went 1-2.
So, has he reasserted himself as the favorite for OROY?
Let’s look at the betting board at DraftKings Sportsbook as of Oct. 22.
2024-25 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds:
Jayden Daniels, Commanders: -145 (bet $10 to win $16.90 total)
Caleb Williams, Bears: +115 (bet $10 to win $21.50 total)
Malik Nabers, Giants: +2000 (bet $10 to win $210 total)
Marvin Harrison Jr., Cardinals: +2500 (bet $10 to win $260 total)
Brian Thomas Jr., Jaguars: +2500 (bet $10 to win $260 total)
Bo Nix, Broncos: +2500 (bet $10 to win $260 total)
At this point, it appears to be a two-man race between the top pick in the 2024 NFL Draft in Williams and the No. 2 pick in Jayden Daniels.
Daniels’ Commanders lost at Baltimore in Week 6, but Daniels was good, completing 24 of 35 passes for 269 yards and two TDs.
It was also Washington’s first loss since Week 1.
Things could become even tighter after Week 7, with Daniels suffering a rib injury in the Commanders’ 40-7 win over Carolina.
His status for Washington’s Week 8 matchup — against Williams and the Bears — is unclear.
