The Philadelphia 76ers’ injury woes continue to mount as Tyrese Maxey will be sidelined with a right hamstring injury.

Expected to miss a couple of weeks, Maxey is set for an evaluation to determine his recovery timeline.

The timing couldn’t be worse for Philadelphia, which is desperately trying to turn around a disappointing 1-6 start to the season as they prepare to face the Los Angeles Lakers.

They will do so with changes to the starting lineup and rotation.

“Kyle Lowry will move into the Sixers starting lineup with Tyrese Maxey sidelined with a strained right hamstring,” Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer wrote on X. “Reggie Jackson will also move into the Sixers’ rotation with Maxey sidelined.”

This season has been particularly challenging for the 76ers on the personnel front.

Joel Embiid is sidelined while managing a left knee issue and facing a three-game suspension following an incident with a media member.

Adding to their troubles, offseason acquisition Paul George, brought in to form a formidable trio with Embiid and Maxey, began the season nursing a bone bruise from preseason action.

George just recently made his Sixers debut.

Maxey’s absence leaves a significant scoring void in the lineup as he’s leading the squad at 27.6 points per game as their lone 20-plus point scorer.

His performance had been particularly impressive before the game against the Clippers, when he was limited to 12 points.

Prior to that setback, Maxey was averaging an outstanding 30.2 points per game, highlighted by a spectacular 45-point outburst in an overtime victory against the Indiana Pacers.
