EASTHAMPTON – A round of a-paws for the Dakin Humane Society.
Nearly 400 dog owners and dog lovers attended Dakin’s signature fundraiser Sunday at the Fort Hill Brewery in Easthampton.
The event featured food trucks and beer for the two-legged attendees. For their four-legged companions, there was a hotdog-eating contest, a costume contest and a pool.
This is the ninth year the event has been held at Fort Hill Brewery.
Meg Talbert, Dakin Humane Society’s executive director, said Dakin expects the arrival this week of 12 dogs from a shelter in Aiken, South Carolina, to assist a shelter there overcrowded due to Hurricane Helene.
