Men’s Tennis Reveals Full Schedule – Northwestern Athletics

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern men’s tennis released its full 2024-25 schedule on Monday, featuring all 13 Big Ten opponents during spring dual action.

The Wildcats are set to participate in two invitationals during the fall season. The year kicked off with the Milwaukee Tennis Classic (Sept. 27-29), and the ‘Cats will continue play at the Notre Dame Invite (Nov. 1-3) a month from now.

As part of the NCAA’s pilot championship format, fall ITA Championships now have individual title implications. The ITA Midwest Regional Championships (Oct. 10-14), Central Sectional Championships (Nov. 7-10) and Conference Masters (Nov. 7-10) all carry automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament for top qualifiers. The first fall NCAA Individual Championships will take place from Nov. 19-24 at Baylor in Waco, Texas.

Fall action also includes the Big Ten’s singles and doubles championships, which will take place in Madison, Wis., concurrent with the ITA Sectionals from November 7-10.

The spring season swings into action for the ‘Cats when they host UIC and Saint Joseph’s in a doubleheader on Jan. 17. They will then host 2024 NCAA Team Champion quarter-finalists Harvard on Jan. 31 before traveling to Durham for a rematch with Duke – who they beat in an upset in Evanston last spring. Northwestern’s non-conference schedule also includes local foes Illinois State (Feb. 15) and Chicago State (Feb. 23) as well as 2024 NCAA qualifiers Vanderbilt (Feb. 7) and Memphis (Feb. 21).

Big Ten play begins when the ‘Cats welcome Wisconsin to Combe Tennis Center on March 7. Conference newcomers USC and UCLA are set to come to Evanston on March 21 and 23. The ‘Cats will also host Nebraska (March 9), Illinois (March 29) and Penn State (April 11).

Northwestern will visit Michigan on April 6 and will host last year’s Big Ten Champions Ohio State on April 13. A trip to the Pacific Northwest will wrap up the regular season when the ‘Cats face Washington on April 18 and Oregon on April 20.

The Big Ten Tournament will be played from April 24-27.

Head Coach Arvid Swan‘s roster features eight returning players alongside three first years. The incoming class of Carter Pate, Lucas Coriaty and Vincent Yang was among those receiving votes in tennisrecruiting.net’s Top-25 recruiting classes. Along with partner Felix Nordby, Yang already ranks at No. 62 in the ITA’s preseason doubles rankings.
