    McGovern powers Lacey girls soccer to shutout victory against Howell



    Natalie McGovern contributed with a goal and an assist for Lacey in its 3-0 shutout against Howell in the Shore Conference Tournament, Group E, in Howell.

    Lacey (13-1) scored all three goals in the first half.

    McGovern scored first for Lacey, then Ava Flanagan scored to lift Lacey to a 2-0 lead. Mackenzie Brotherston scored the final goal of the first half, and of the game, to give Lacey its 3-0 win.

    Ava Forde assisted on McGovern’s and Flanagan’s goals in the first half.

    Lacey leads the B South Group of the Shore Conference with a 4-0 record. Toms River East and Point Pleasant Beach trail Lacey in the standings with 3-1 records.

    Howell (8-3) is in third place in the A North Group with a 3-2 record. Howell is behind Middletown South and Red Bank Catholicc in the standings.
