Liam Payne left fans wanting more when he dropped the lead single from his highly-anticipated second album, Teardrops, back in March.
Despite the previous success of his debut album, the song failed to chart, and The Sun recently reported that the former One Direction member is questioning whether he’ll even be able to release the album amid his health complications and losing a crucial member of his team.
A friend close to the star revealed, “Things are tough for Liam at the moment. His former manager Roger stepped back earlier this year, and without his guidance, things have been erratic. Liam had been doing well on his second album, but now it’s completely paused.”
The source added that Payne, 31, has “no idea” if the album will “ever be released.”
The father of two, who found success with his hit single Strip That Down featuring Quavo, has faced challenges both professionally and personally this year.
A behind-the-scenes clip posted on Instagram and TikTok in March showed Payne emotional while discussing the making of his sophomore album, saying, “There were definitely a lot of teardrops shed in making these records.”
On top of his career struggles, Payne has also faced severe health issues, including being hospitalised for a kidney infection in Italy, which forced him to cancel his tour.
