Kabiller NU for Life Program Hosts 2024 Job and Internship Reception – Northwestern Athletics

EVANSTON, Ill. – On Tuesday, October 1, the Kabiller NU for Life program hosted its annual Job and Internship Reception, providing an opportunity for Wildcat student-athletes to connect with a diverse range of employers from all industries. Juniors, seniors, and graduate student-athletes were in attendance, giving them the chance to explore many internship and full-time opportunities with the employers in attendance.

This year’s job and internship reception welcomed more than 80 employers representing nearly 50 companies and organizations, with more than 100 student-athletes at Walter Athletics Center.

This event provides student-athletes the opportunity to network with various employers, including a significant number of Wildcat alumni.

“I thought the event was very helpful for me, getting to speak with a range of professionals in different fields that come from similar backgrounds and college experiences,” said senior Bennett Markinson, a member of Northwestern’s baseball team.

Junior Sienna Noordermeer, a member of the volleyball team, stated the reception was “an incredible event filled with professionals who genuinely believe in the potential of student-athletes to make an impact and are excited to help us gain valuable insight as we navigate our early careers. I left feeling very energized, with new connections and insights that will be incredibly helpful as I continue to shape my career path.”

Concluding the event, the Kabiller NU for Life team shared the employer contact information with each student-athlete in attendance, allowing them to continue to cultivate these professional connections. Also, the Kabiller NU for Life team shared the resume of every student-athlete in attendance with the employers.

“The job and internship reception this year was a great experience,” shared cross country senior Deepti Choudhury. “There was a wide range of professionals I was able to converse with across multiple industries. From it, I made meaningful connections and was also able to reconnect with people I had networked with or met in the past. It helped me feel more confident to reach out to professionals I would like to meet in the future.”
