The Las Vegas Raiders are dealing with some internal issues as they prepare to host the Pittsburgh Steelers in NFL Week 6.

Star wide receiver Davante Adams prefers to be traded and also has been dealing with a hamstring injury that is expected to prevent him from playing for a third straight game.

The Raiders do have some other legitimate offensive threats, however, including Michael Mayer, a second-year tight end out of Notre Dame.

However, Mayer also missed the past two games and has now been placed on the reserve/non-football illness list due to a personal matter, according to Field Yates of ESPN.

Mayer will now have to sit out at least four more games.

He was thought to be one of the top tight end prospects heading into the 2023 NFL Draft but had just 27 catches for 304 yards and two touchdowns in 14 games last season.

In three games this season, he has caught four passes for 21 yards.

The biggest problem Las Vegas has been dealing with is its poor quarterback play, and it led to it promoting Aidan O’Connell to the QB1 spot.

He will be replacing Gardner Minshew II, who has thrown for 1,014 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions this season.

In 2023, O’Connell, then a rookie, had 2,218 passing yards, 12 passing touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing 62.1 percent of his pass attempts in 11 games.

After playing the Steelers, the Raiders visit the Los Angeles Rams before hosting the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in Week 8.
