Boston Celtics superstar Jaylen Brown had quite the summer as he won NBA Finals MVP, confirmed he was dating WNBA player Kysre Gondrezick, and officially began the first year of his record $304 million contract extension.

Unfortunately in life, nobody can have it all, and the one thing that didn’t go Brown’s way was his snub from the Team USA roster for the 2024 Paris Olympics, which is something his father recently discussed to provide a healthy perspective.

“I’m proud of him regardless,” Marselles Brown said of his son, via SiriusXM NBA Radio. “… It’s BS. I thought that was really foul. He handled it well.”

Jaylen Brown’s exclusion from the roster was one of the main NBA talking points after Team USA lost Kawhi Leonard to his recurring knee soreness.

Leonard was replaced with Celtics star Derrick White, who stepped in a served as a key role player for the team en route to winning the gold medal.

Jaylen Brown had every right to be upset given his status as a perennial All-Star and the reigning Finals MVP, but when it comes to roster construction, it’s tough to argue he would have been a better addition to the team than White was.

Fans love to do this with All-Star Game snubs as well and will get upset about how as many as 10 different players got snubbed, but most will never come out and say which players who made the team should be replaced.

We’ll see if Brown will carry the snub as more motivation during the 2024-25 NBA season and take his game up another level.
