Corey Heim has signed a multiyear development deal with 23XI Racing, making him the organization’s first development driver. As part of the deal, Heim will serve as a reserve driver for the team and make several NASCAR Cup Series starts, beginning with a race at Kansas Speedway in May, driving the No. 67 Toyota with Bootie Barker as the crew chief.

The agreement also includes Heim racing in the Xfinity Series for Sam Hunt Racing, with his first start at the Circuit of The Americas. He will drive a Sam Hunt Racing Toyota, supported by 23XI Racing.

“It’s a dream come true to be part of 23XI,” Heim said. “I’m excited for the opportunity to race more Cup and Xfinity races this year. I’m focused on working my way to full-time Cup racing when the time is right, and I look forward to learning from 23XI as the organization continues to grow. I’m also grateful for the support from Toyota in my development, both on and off the track.”

Heim, currently in his third season with Tricon Garage in the Craftsman Truck Series, has won 12 races in 66 starts. He made three Cup Series starts last season, including substitute driving for Erik Jones at Dover and Kansas, and running a third car for 23XI Racing at Nashville.

“Corey has proven to be a talented, hard-working driver, and we look forward to furthering our relationship with him as our development driver in 2025,” said 23XI Racing president Steve Lauletta. “We plan to provide all the resources of 23XI to support his growth within the Toyota family.”

Heim has also made 13 Xfinity Series starts with four top-10 finishes over the last two seasons.

“We’re thrilled to have Corey back with us at SHR,” said Sam Hunt. “Corey has become like family, and we’re excited to continue building on the strong performances we’ve had together. We’re focused on maximizing our resources and helping Corey develop into a full-time Cup driver.”

Heim remains part of the Toyota Driver Development Program.
