The 2-3 Las Vegas Raiders are hosting the 3-2 Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday and are now focused on trying to figure out if quarterback Aidan O’Connell can be the franchise QB

O’Connell will be starting this week for the first time this season after head coach Antonio Pierce benched Gardner Minshew earlier in the week, but he, unfortunately, won’t have No. 1 wide receiver Davante Adams once again as he continues to nurse a hamstring injury while waiting to get traded.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter shared some more troubling news in the wide receiver department as fellow wideout Jakobi Meyers was downgraded to doubtful on Saturday afternoon due to the ankle injury he suffered in the Week 5 loss at the Denver Broncos.

Meyers was originally listed as questionable, but the injury got worse and O’Connell now looks to be headed into this game without his top two wide receivers.

It’s far from ideal, but this team will have no choice but to look to the next man up, which in this case is likely some combination of Tre Tucker, DJ Turner, Tyreik McAllister, and a heavy dose of rookie tight end Brock Bowers now that second-year tight end Michael Mayer is also out.

Aside from their offensive line woes, the Steelers are coming into this matchup pretty healthy and will be looking to end a 2-game losing streak and avoid slipping back to .500 after a strong 3-0 start.

Meyers is second on the team with 25 catches for 273 yards and a touchdown so far this season.
