The Washington Commanders have won four in a row and have a tough matchup on Sunday with the Baltimore Ravens, who have won three in a row since an 0-2 start and feature the league’s second-highest scoring offense at 29.4 points per game.

One key plotline heading into the game for Washington has been the health of running back Brian Robinson Jr., and the team has officially made a decision about his status for the Ravens game on Sunday morning.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter shared that Robinson has been downgraded to out after not practicing all week due to a knee injury.

Robinson is off to a strong start with 325 yards and five touchdowns on a career-high 4.5 yards per carry through five games, so hopefully, this is just a one-week absence and he can resume his strong output next week.

Austin Ekeler will likely take over the bulk of the workload with Robinson out, and Jeremy McNichols should see an uptick in touches as well.

Ekeler is no stranger to high volume after his years as the featured back with the Los Angeles Chargers, and so far in Washington, he has looked as spry as ever with his reduced workload.

He is currently averaging 7.9 yards per carry and 13.7 yards per reception with his 30 touches, and it will be interesting to see what he can do for this offense if he gets the chance to handle 20-25 touches like he used to get on a weekly basis.

Not having Robinson will be difficult, but this team has the artillery to overcome his absence for a week or two if need be.
