Haven-1: World’s first commercial space station

Unlike traditional space stations, Haven-1 provides a resort-like experience with sleek, sophisticated designs that prioritise comfort. The interior video highlights a luxurious atmosphere that departs from the utilitarian aesthetics of previous orbital labs.
According to a press release, Haven-1 features elegant wood veneer accents, soft padded white walls, and high-end amenities typically found in luxury hotels. The station includes a state-of-the-art gym for maintaining fitness in zero gravity, as well as private rooms equipped with advanced entertainment and communication systems to keep visitors connected to Earth.
Haven-1 can accommodate four astronauts in cosy rooms, each offering storage space, a vanity, and a specially designed queen-sized bed for optimal sleep.

Additional features of Haven-1

Additional features include a 1.1-meter observation window dome for stunning views of Earth, a patent-pending sleep system designed for restful sleep in zero gravity, and an onboard fitness system to support cardiovascular and bone health. The interiors are warm and inviting, crafted from natural materials like maple wood veneer.
The station is set to launch on SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket in 2025, with the first paying guests expected to arrive in 2026. Vast’s Chief Design and Marketing Officer, Hillary Coe, emphasised the company’s commitment to human-centred design, stating their goal to create a future where people can thrive both on Earth and in space, necessitating a new approach to design that caters to all comfort levels.
