The Denver Nuggets entered last season as the odds-on favorites to win another championship but they ultimately fell short of that goal in the playoffs, taken down by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference semifinals.
And now some people are losing faith in them.
Speaking with Mark Medina, via NBACentral, an anonymous NBA executive made it clear that they think the Nuggets are headed in the wrong direction.
They said:
“Denver’s second-best player is going backward. Jamal [Murray] hasn’t been the same. There is something about Jamal’s health and physical capacity right now that concerns me. Michael Porter is also terribly overrated. He’s a one-way player and just a scorer. I also don’t think Denver has the assets to get an upgrade. They’ll be stuck with the team they have.”

This isn’t the first time someone has made these complaints about the Nuggets.
Murray’s health and output on the court have been criticized a lot lately, especially during his time with Team Canada during the Olympics.
Porter has also received some negative ratings from analysts and fans because they feel he doesn’t focus on defense and is only helpful because of his shooting.
The team will need more than that if they want another championship.
Nikola Jokic is still considered one of the best players in the world and the Nuggets remain a threat in the West.
But there is no denying that this season is make or break for the team.
If they are able to claim another title or at least reach the Western Conference Finals, people will believe in them again.
But if they don’t get that far or face more problems, there will be concerns and even calls for the front office to break the team apart.
They won a championship just over a year ago and have one of the best players in the world on their roster but people are still worried about the Nuggets.
