The Wellsboro JV Football team picked up their second win of the season, shutting out Canton 26-0 on Monday, October 14.
Freshman Reed Richardson threw three touchdown passes on the night, one each to sophomores Nathan Love and Asher Davenport, and junior Dylan Copp.
Copp also ran for a score.
“I’m proud of the boys for how we finished last night,” said coach Bryce Bitner. “The weather wasn’t the most suitable, but it didn’t stop them from coming out and taking care of business. Matthew and Dylan ran the ball very well tonight and the Offensive Line did a great job setting up some big plays. Reed had a big night throwing the ball, throwing for three scores. Defensively we pitched a shutout, showing instances of bending and not breaking. We struggled coming out of the half defensively but put up a tough defensive stand to end the game. Now we get back to practice and prepare for Northwest and our rival North Penn-Mansfield in two weeks.”
Wellsboro (2-3) hosts Northwest Area next Monday for their final game of the season.
