Despite some key injuries at wide receiver and on the offensive line, the Los Angeles Rams could have a real shot at finishing first in the NFC West and building on the success they had last year.

Perhaps the best news for them is the fact they’re starting to get healthy.

They recently welcomed back Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, their two main threats at wide receiver, but Nacua had to leave practice this week with an apparent knee injury.

“That was a scary situation for the Los Angeles Rams,” NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport said. “… Puka Nacua is going to be fine.”

Rapoport said the second-year player has a chance to play against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 9.

Nacua was a rookie sensation last year with 105 catches for 1,486 yards and six touchdowns, and he finished second in the voting for the Offensive Rookie of the Year award behind C.J. Stroud of the Houston Texans.

The fifth-round pick from the 2023 NFL Draft was a major reason the Rams greatly surpassed the grim preseason predictions people had for them and nearly upset the Detroit Lions in the wild-card round of the playoffs.

While Nacua and Kupp were out this season, Tutu Atwell stepped up and helped Los Angeles tread water, and he has 24 receptions for 350 yards in seven games.

With a 3-4 record, the Rams are one-half game behind the other three teams in the NFC West, so this matchup carries some added importance.
