Cowboys lose starting QB to injury vs. Falcons

The Dallas Cowboys have a big NFC East rivalry game next week against the Philadelphia Eagles and the status of their star quarterback is unknown.

Dak Prescott left Sunday’s Week 9 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons in the second half with a hamstring injury. He was replaced by Cooper Rush. It’s unclear when the injury occurred, but a Falcons offensive lineman appeared to roll into Prescott’s left leg on a play at the end of the third quarter.

Video showed trainers working on Prescott’s right hand on the sideline prior to him going into the blue medical tent. But it was a hamstring injury that ultimately knocked him from the game.

The Cowboys were already dealing with a bit of drama prior to kickoff. Ezekiel Elliott was a healthy scratch for the first time in his career due to him being “distracted this season” and missing several team meetings, according to NFL Network’s Jane Slater.

Dallas was 3-4 going into Sunday’s game and were trailing 27-13 when Rush replaced Prescott.
