Benfica midfielder Orkun Kokcu has his sights on reuniting with manager Arne Slot at Liverpool in January.
The Turkish star spent two seasons under Slot at Feyenoord before securing a big-money move to the Primeira Liga.
Kokcu has been a vital player for the Portuguese giants, but he is now contemplating a fresh challenge elsewhere.
Football Insider claim that Kokcu is open to moving to the Premier League and would like to reunite with Slot at Anfield.
Slot has plans to purchase a new midfielder in January after the Reds failed to land Martin Zubimendi over the summer.
Kokcu would be an ideal addition to the club’s ranks, but Benfica are expected to hold out for £67m for his sale.
The club have no plans to negotiate on the price tag and a transfer will depend on the ambition of the Anfield club.
It remains to be seen whether the Reds are prepared to make such a huge outlay in January to boost their league title pursuit.
