The One Direction star Liam Payne will be finally laid to rest this week after a period of thorough investigation that still remains “inconclusive.”
After the Strip That Down singer tragically lost his life falling from a balcony of his hotel in CasaSur, in Buenos Aires, Argentina on October 16th, the cause of death seemed unclear.
An initial post-mortem suggested the cause of death to be multiple traumas and “internal and external haemorrhage”.
Due to continuous investigation, Liam’s body only returned home to the U.K earlier this week.
Liam’s family had to put off the funeral till the body returned to the U.K, and the funeral was to be scheduled after the return.
Since the body was released to the family on Monday, November 4th, the funeral procession is set to take place on Friday in his hometown of Wolverhampton.
Fans crowded outside St. Peter’s Collegiate Church on Tuesday, November 5th in the singer’s native land, giving tributes and flowers.
The funeral celebration is reportedly supposed to be a private occasion with the late star’s family, One Direction bandmates Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan in attendance.
Liam’s only son Bear, his mother Cheryl Cole, and Kate Cassidy, singer’s girlfriend at the time will also be expectedly attending the procession.
The venue for funeral has not been revealed yet but it is believed that it will take place at St. Peter’s Collegiate Church in Wolverhampton.
This comes after One Direction fans have also called for a permanent memorial to honour the star’s legacy. They proposed for a long-lasting tribute in the shape of a statue or mural to be built to respect the impact the singer had on the world.
