Sally Field Seen Trashing 'Pro Choice' Dreams After The Election

Sally Field’s 78th birthday was marred by Donald Trump’s election victory, forcing her to trash her hopes for the future.

The Hollywood veteran spent the morning of her big day disposing of Kamala Harris‘ campaign signs, visibly disappointed by her loss. She had fought for the VP’s spot in the White House, even opening up about a traumatic time in her life.

Sally Field used her illegal abortion experience to emphasize the need for Roe v. Wade. She noted that was the main reason for voting for Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz but not even her emotional confession could move Donald Trump’s supporters.

The “Steel Magnolias” actress turned 78 on Wednesday, November 6, a day after the elections. While she must have received tons of well-wishes upon waking up, news of Trump’s victory seemed to take precedence over her age milestone.

Hours after the former president’s return to the Oval Office was announced, paparazzi spotted Field outside her Los Angeles home on a mission. She removed the Harris campaign posters that had decorated her property and implored passersby to vote — and trashed them!

The TV icon seemed crushed by Harris’s loss so much that she could not let her campaign poster spend another minute outside her house. She was photographed holding two signs, with one housing the slogan “Pro Choice, Pro Equality, Pro Democracy,” words close to her heart.

If dumping the posters in the garbage did not showcase her disappointment, the pictures obtained by The Blast captured Field’s downcast expression. Even her outfit seemed somber featuring gray sweatpants, a matching gray shirt, and a blue T-shirt.

Field announced her support for Harris in October, sharing an emotional video on Instagram. She reflected on why Roe v. Wade was an important law for women using her illegal abortion experience.

The entertainer got pregnant at 17, a situation that left her feeling ashamed because she was not ready to be a mother or even financially stable to raise a child. In her words:

“I had no choices in my life. I didn’t have a lot of family support or finance. I graduated high school, but no one ever said, ‘How about college?’ Nothing. I didn’t know what I was gonna be, and then I found out I was pregnant.”

Field recalled having to get an abortion in Tijuana, noting her family’s doctor had driven her, her mother, and his wife in his brand-new Cadillac to the place. He gave an envelope with cash and directed her to a “scary” building, per The Blast.

Field claimed she “had no anesthetic” during the “beyond hideous and life-altering” procedure. However, she noted a technician had given her “a few puffs of ether” but it wasn’t enough to dull the pain.

“It just made my arms and legs feel numb, weird, but I felt everything — how much pain I was in,” the actress recalled. Her abortion woes did not end there as Field claimed the “technician was actually molesting [her].”

“I had to figure out, how can I make my arms move to push him away? So it was just this absolute pit of shame,” she continued. The entertainer noted they immediately kicked her out of the building once the procedure was done.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame honoree implored fans to understand the importance of Roe v. Wade. She stressed that women could not go back to the times where they had to travel to other states for an abortion.

“We can’t go back. We have to all stand up and fight,” Field declared. She noted that abortion was one of the reasons Harris and Walz needed to win the election, begging her followers to “protect reproductive freedom.”

Harris has been vocal about Roe v. Wade, claiming we need to put back in law “the protections for reproductive freedom and for the ability of every person and every woman to make decisions about their own body and not have their government tell them what to do.”

Three years before fighting for reproductive freedom, Field used her acting skills to end her relationship with the late Johnny Carson. The Blast reported that she revealed her deception during a 2021 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live.”

“I told him — Johnny, I think it was — I told him I was having a breakdown and was getting sent away. I could not figure out how to say I’m really am just not into this. I just said, ‘I’m so sorry. I have to go away. They’re putting me in a home,'” Field confessed.

She claimed she had to pull the “I have lost my mind” trick because she was terrible at saying no to people. When asked how she would describe their affair, Field called it “The octopus and the reluctant little guppy.”

Given Sally Field’s disappointment over Kamala Harris’s loss, she won’t be cheering for Donald Trump during his inauguration.
