Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo will undergo a medical examination following his injury against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
The England international suffered the setback in the opening half of the Premier League game and he was substituted before the interval.
Following the 3-0 loss, manager Erik ten Hag did not specify the nature of the injury, but the club are expected to provide an update by tomorrow.
Mainoo looked disappointed as he came off the field and the fans will be hoping that he has not suffered a long-term injury of any kind.
United have had a dismal start to the Premier League campaign and they have secured only seven points from their opening six games.
The club have not fared well in the Europa League either. They played out a 1-1 draw against FC Twente in the opening game last week.
The pressure is right on the shoulders of Ten Hag and he could be sacked if the club don’t return to winning ways in the next two outings.
