CHENNAI: Samsung India Thozilalar Sangam, a trade union affiliated with CITU, has approached the Madras HC seeking direction to the Tamil Nadu labour department to register it under the Trade Union Act. Admitting the plea, Justice R N Manjula has directed the labour department to dispose of the application of the trade union in two weeks.
According to the petitioner, the formation of the union was informed to the Samsung management on June 27 to recognise it.The union has also given a charter of demands to the management on July 11. But the management did not recognise our union, and it did not come forward for talks.
