LEAH GALTON (two appearances, one goal)
After sustaining an ankle injury in last season’s Adobe Women’s FA Cup final, our penultimate outing of the previous campaign, it has been great to have Leah back available for the start of the 2024/25 term.
Our no.11 has been tasked with an unfamiliar left-back role in the opening two matches, but has rose to the challenge brilliantly, and still managed to chip in as far as the goalscoring is concerned.
Galton’s right-footed strike against West Ham doubled our lead at the Theatre of Dreams, and made her a subject of praise from Marc Skinner, for her notable versatility. “Not only is she an incredibly direct attacker, she’s a really good defender. She’s one of the best one-v-one defenders I’ve ever seen,” the boss said recently, in his pre-Everton press conference.
