The Cleveland Browns might be forced to make a drastic change at quarterback as Deshaun Watson has not looked good during the 2024 NFL season.

The Browns are currently seeking their second win of the season, though they need to get through a well-rested and healthier Philadelphia Eagles team in Week 6.

Cleveland’s offense has been mired in mud and a lot of it can be attributed to Watson who looks skittish in the pocket and routinely misses throws.

At this point, it’s almost coaching malpractice to keep Watson in as he’s actively hurting the team by being on the field.

To illustrate how bad Watson’s been, Michael Strahan outlined a troubling third-down stat via Albert Breer of The MMQB.

“Michael Strahan just delivered this stat on FOX halftime—Deshaun Watson’s 0 for his last 25 third downs. That’s WILD,” Breer posted.

To be unable to convert that many times in a row on third down just goes to show how poorly Watson is playing.

With the lack of a running game to ease the pressure off of him, Watson’s constantly behind the sticks and hasn’t been able to connect with receivers for big plays.

Although head coach Kevin Stefanski has continued to support Watson as the team’s starting quarterback, it feels like a matter of time until he’s forced to look to backup Jameis Winston.

Continuing to play Watson is an easy way to lose the locker room, so it’ll be interesting to see if Stefanski eventually pulls the plug on this experiment and moves on.
