Jared Goff’s remarkable transformation has become one of the NFL’s most compelling storylines this season, powering Detroit’s emergence as legitimate Super Bowl contenders.

Under Ben Johnson’s dynamic offense, Goff has elevated his game to new heights, completing an astounding 83 percent of his passes over the last five games – setting an NFL record in the process.

The MVP conversation surrounding Goff sparked an interesting debate when NFL analyst Trey Wingo made his case for the Detroit Lions quarterback.

A skeptical fan pointed to Goff’s modest 80-yard passing performance in his previous outing, highlighting Detroit’s dominant ground game and suggesting that perhaps offensive lineman Penei Sewell was more deserving of MVP consideration.

Wingo, however, stood firm in his assessment.

“It’s not about stats. He’s on an all time heater. Thru the last 5 games The Lions have more offensive TDs than incompletions. And they have a better record. This isn’t complicated.”

The numbers back up Wingo’s confidence. Goff’s recent stretch has been nothing short of exceptional: 140 completions on 189 attempts, 1,695 passing yards, 13 touchdowns, and just four interceptions.

Earlier this season, he achieved something remarkable by posting a passer rating above 140 in three straight games.

Even in Sunday’s 52-14 rout of the Tennessee Titans, Goff’s efficiency was on full display.

Despite throwing only 12 passes, he made them count with 85 yards and three touchdowns.

His performance raises the question: What more does he need to do to cement his place in the MVP race?

Now, as the Lions prepare for a crucial NFC North showdown with the Green Bay Packers, the stakes couldn’t be higher.

Detroit has claimed victory in four of their last five meetings, marking a significant power shift in a division long dominated by Green Bay.
