The Las Vegas Raiders are struggling once again this season, and the mood has darkened for the team.

After losing 41-24 to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday to fall to a 2-7 record, they fired offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, offensive line coach James Cregg and quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello, which head coach Antonio Pierce admitted was his decision.

They have a host of problems, including weak quarterback play and a very ineffective running game, and there aren’t any easy answers for them right now.

Analyst Cody Decker, a self-admitted lifelong Raiders fan, called this year’s edition perhaps the worst he’s ever seen, as well as a “disaster,” and he said they may need to “sell the farm,” per Mag Dog Sports Radio.

“This might be the worst Raider team I’ve seen,” said Decker.

The first thing Las Vegas needs is a legitimate starting QB, but they need much more than that in order to challenge for a playoff spot, and Decker admitted that they won’t be able to challenge for a playoff spot anytime soon.

The Raiders, who were once a marquee franchise decades ago, have made the playoffs just twice ever since reaching the Super Bowl during the 2002 season.

Decker said that even if they get a high draft pick, the player they use it on likely won’t help that much, given their many needs.

There was initially some optimism when they made Antonio Pierce their new head coach midway through last season, but now, those old familiar feelings of emptiness and frustration have returned for the organization and its fans.
