Monday night’s game was the worst of the young season for the Los Angeles Lakers because they were thoroughly outplayed by a team they thought they could beat.
The Detroit Pistons looked great in their 115-103 win and Lakers fans felt completely dismayed by the loss.
The players didn’t feel any better.
Following the game, Anthony Davis spoke with the press, via ClutchPoints, and talked about the problems for his team.
“We’re just two different teams right now. One game we’re this team who showcases to be one of the better teams in the league, then the next we’re this team who I don’t even know who we are,” Davis said.

Davis said that the team cannot keep functioning like this and will have to put together a “full 48” of strong, solid, consistent basketball if they have any hope of reaching the playoffs.
This is the first troublesome period for new head coach JJ Redick.
After an encouraging start a couple of weeks ago, the Lakers’ record is now 4-3 while many fans feel it should be much better.
Redick and his staff will have to get to work so they can avoid any more losses like Monday’s.
The team was sluggish and out of sorts and couldn’t keep up with the Pistons.
It’s clear that things need to change as soon as possible.
For his part, Davis looked great with 37 points and nine rebounds, giving fans another brilliant performance.
Unfortunately, he also hurt himself during the game and now there are questions about his availability.
So the Lakers may not have just lost the game, but they may have lost Davis too.
