Ayushman Bharat Card Download: Senior citizens can apply for the Ayushman card online
The Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY), the government-backed health insurance scheme for low-income groups, has now been extended to all senior citizens aged 70 and above, regardless of their income level.
This initiative aims to provide health coverage to approximately 4.5 crore families, benefiting nearly 6 crore senior citizens with a health insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh per family.
Ayushman Card For 70 Years Old Online Apply
Beneficiaries can apply for the Ayushman Bharat Senior Citizen Scheme through a dedicated website portal and the Ayushman App (available for Android on the Google Play Store).

How To Apply For Ayushman Card For Seniors Aged 70 and Above?
Online Registration:
Senior citizens can apply for the Ayushman card online via the official National Health Authority (NHA) website or the Ayushman app.
Steps to Apply on the NHA Portal:
- Access the Portal: Visit the NHA Beneficiary portal.
- Login: Enter your phone number, solve the captcha, and authenticate via OTP.
- Enrollment Banner: Click on the banner for senior citizens aged 70+.
- Fill in Details: Provide your state, district, and Aadhaar number.
- Complete KYC: Use Aadhaar OTP for KYC verification and upload a recent photo.
- Download Card: After approval, download the Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card within 15 minutes.
Mobile Application Process:
- Download Ayushman App: Install the app on your mobile device.
- Login as Beneficiary: Enter captcha and mobile number, then authenticate via OTP.
- Fill Beneficiary Details: Provide Aadhaar information and a declaration.
- Capture Photo: Upload a recent photograph.
- Submit Application: Enter details for the beneficiary and family members, then complete the eKYC process.
- Card Download: The card can be downloaded shortly after successful registration.
For any discrepancies or if a beneficiary is not found, ensure to complete the eKYC process and give consent for OTP verification
Key Points to Note
Distinct Ayushman Card:
Senior citizens aged 70 and above will receive a special, distinct card under the Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY scheme.
Exclusive Top-Up Coverage:
Senior citizens within families already covered by AB PM-JAY will receive an additional top-up of Rs 5 lakh annually. This top-up is exclusively for them and does not need to be shared with family members under 70.
Family Coverage for Non-Enrolled Seniors:
Those senior citizens not part of an existing AB PM-JAY family plan will be provided with Rs 5 lakh annual coverage on a family basis.
Flexibility in Scheme Choice:
Senior citizens currently enrolled in other public health insurance schemes, such as the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), or Ayushman CAPF, can choose to continue with their existing plan or switch to AB PM-JAY.
Eligibility for Those with Private Insurance:
Senior citizens covered by private health insurance or the Employees’ State Insurance scheme are also eligible for benefits under AB PM-JAY.
