Arsenal have their sights on landing Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak amid his reluctance to commit to a new long-term contract, according to Charles Watts.
The Gunners were highly fancied to sign a new marksman over the summer, but they eventually decided against a purchase. Isak was not available in the transfer market while Benjamin Sesko committed his future to RB Leipzig.
Arsenal are likely to wait until next summer for a big-money acquisition up front and Watts claim that the north London giants have identified Isak as the perfect signing.
Isak has been reluctant to put pen-to-paper on a new deal with the Magpies. The Swede is said to be considering his future due to the lack of progress at the Tyneside outfit.
Nonetheless, he still has three more years left on his contract and Arsenal may have to pay in excess of £100 million to prise him away from the Magpies next year.
Arsenal have been tracking him from his time at Real Sociedad.
