Aston Martin unveiled the AMR25 ahead of its 2025 car’s first run, which will take place before pre-season testing in Bahrain.
The AMR25 will participate in a filming day at the Bahrain International Circuit on Monday, prior to the official start of pre-season on Wednesday. It is described as an evolution of last year’s model, with updates focused on enhancing drivability and boosting overall driver confidence.
One of the most noticeable changes is the sidepods, which differ significantly from the 2024 design. Additionally, improvements to the floor aim to provide a more stable rear end compared to last season.
“I’m eager to get the season underway and see the AMR25 in action tomorrow in Bahrain,” said team principal Andy Cowell. “It’s the result of hard work and dedication at the AMR Technology Campus. We’re inspired by Aston Martin’s heritage, and we relentlessly strive for excellence both on and off the track.
“For this year’s car, we’ve incorporated lessons and feedback from last season. Our focus has been on creating a more drivable car for Lance and Fernando, making it more stable. We anticipate a competitive field right from the start in Australia, so we know it will be a challenge.
“Our goals are realistic, keeping in mind the continuous improvements we need to make, especially as we approach the major regulatory changes in 2026.”
Despite a strong start to last season, Aston Martin faded and ended up fifth in the constructors’ standings. Alonso agrees with Cowell that the bigger picture is crucial, with the team eyeing an opportunity to be a front-runner in 2026.
“We learned a lot in 2024, and the team has used that knowledge as motivation as we head into this season with the AMR25,” said Alonso. “The competition will be tough in the final year of the current regulations, but I know the team has been putting in the work at the AMRTC to ensure we’re ready. I’m excited to get back on track, and I’m committed to helping the team grow stronger as we continue our journey with Aston Martin Aramco.”
