Ayushman Bharat Hospital List: Individuals aged 70 and above will be issued a distinctive card
The Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY), India’s premier health insurance initiative for low-income households, has now broadened its reach to include all senior citizens aged 70 and above, regardless of their financial standing or income levels. This move aims to bring health security to approximately 4.5 crore families, ensuring nearly 6 crore seniors have access to a substantial insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh per family annually.
Exclusive Ayushman Card for Seniors
Individuals aged 70 and above will be issued a distinctive Ayushman card, simplifying their access to medical services under this scheme.

Checking Empanelled Hospitals-
To find hospitals under this scheme, follow the below-listed steps;
- Visit the official website of the National Health Authority- nha.gov.in.
- Navigate to ‘PMJAY for 70+’ in the toolbar.
- Select ‘List of Empanelled Hospitals’ to view the comprehensive list.
How to Apply for the Ayushman Bharat Senior Citizen Scheme
1. Online Application
Senior citizens can conveniently apply for their Ayushman card online via the National Health Authority (NHA) website or the Ayushman app, available on the Google Play Store.
Steps to Apply on the NHA Portal:
- Visit the Website: Head over to nha.gov.in.
- Log In: Enter your mobile number, solve the captcha, and verify via OTP.
- Enroll: Click on the PMJAY for 70+ banner.
- Fill in Your Details: Provide your state, district, and Aadhaar number.
- KYC Verification: Complete your KYC using Aadhaar OTP and upload a recent photograph.
- Download Your Card: Once approved, your Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card will be ready for download in just 15 minutes.
2. Application via Mobile App
For those who prefer using their smartphones:
- Download the Ayushman App: Available on the Google Play Store.
- Log In: Enter your mobile number, complete the captcha, and verify via OTP.
- Provide Beneficiary Details: Fill in your Aadhaar information and upload a recent photo.
- Submit the Application: Enter the necessary details for the beneficiary and their family members, completing the eKYC process.
- Download the Card: The card will be available for download shortly after successful registration.
For any issues or if a beneficiary’s details are not found, ensure that the eKYC process is fully completed and OTP verification consent is given. This initiative is a significant stride towards ensuring that our elderly population receives the medical care they need without financial stress.
