Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie enjoyed a stylish outing this week, marking their first public appearance together since Beatrice revealed her second pregnancy.
On Wednesday, October 9, the sisters attended the VIP preview of the Frieze Art Fair 2024 at Regent’s Park in London, widely regarded as one of the world’s most influential contemporary art fairs.
For the two busy moms, this day offered a welcome break from their usual routines, allowing them to embrace their shared love of art in a relaxed setting.
Eugenie, who is a director at the esteemed Hauser & Wirth gallery, attended alongside her brother-in-law, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Beatrice’s husband and a property developer who frequently collaborates on interior design projects.
Both sisters appeared radiant, smiling and enjoying their time together in central London. They mingled with other prominent guests, including actor Benedict Cumberbatch and tennis sensation Emma Raducanu.
This outing was especially significant for Beatrice and Eugenie, as it was their first joint public appearance since Buckingham Palace announced on October 1 that Beatrice is expecting her second child.
Beatrice and Edoardo are already parents to their daughter, Sienna, who is 3, as well as Edo’s son, 8-year-old Christopher Woolf, from a previous relationship.
“Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together early in the new year; a sibling for Wolfie and Sienna,” said the statement from Buckingham Palace.
“His Majesty The King has been informed and both families are delighted with the news.”
Alongside the announcement, two heartwarming images were shared by the couple, which showed their growing family as they prepared to add yet another addition to their expanding brood.
Immediately after the announcement, both Princess Eugenie and her mother Sarah Ferguson were among the first people to share their warmest congratulations, with Eugenie in particular later going on to reveal just how close she was to her sibling in a touching interview.
Speaking to Hello!, Princess Eugenie revealed that: “I ring her a lot about meltdowns and what we do and this and that.” And it appears that their close bond also included asking for permission first before sharing an Instagram tribute about the exciting baby news.
“When I was Instagramming that photo, I rang her, and I was like, ‘What do you want me to say?’ ” Eugenie explained. “She said, ‘Can’t wait to talk about the trials and tribulations of motherhood.’ “
“I posted about our mothering journey, because it really is like you become part of a club — a mothering club. And when your children are the same age and they’re going through the same things, it’s just the luckiest thing in the world … And Bea’s my big sister, I talk to her about everything,” she said.
