Few NBA executives have had as much success as Pat Riley.

As team president of the Miami Heat, Riley has continued to be successful, making the Heat one of the prominent teams in the league and implementing a sustainable winning culture.

Riley has been part of all three titles with the Heat, one as the head coach and the others as an executive, earning NBA Executive of the Year honors in 2011.

The 79-year-old is already in the Basketball Hall of Fame as a head coach, but ESPN’s Brian Windhorst believes he should also get in as an executive via NBA on ESPN.

“[Pat Riley] should be put into the Hall of Fame as an executive,” Windhorst said.

There’s no question that Riley should be honored for what he has done as an executive in the NBA, as he has been very successful in the front office for the Heat and is one of the main reasons for the franchise’s sustained success.

Much like his former Lakers teammate Jerry West, who is in the Hall of Fame as a player and an executive, Riley will likely get the nod in the near future.
