Max Pacioretty checked the Boston blueliner hard into the boards in the left-wing corner behind Jeremy Swayman.

Peeke, whose head hit the glass, was slow to get up and lay face down for a moment before the training staff attended to him. He got up and skated off under his own power, but went to directly to the dressing room.

There was no immediate update on his status. The Bruins finished the period with five defensemen before announcing his status between periods. Peeke played six shifts over 4:49 before the injury. Peeke has two assists in 13 games (including Tuesday) and is -2 this season.

Pacioretty was initially assessed a 5-minute major, but the referees reviewed it the video and determined it was a clean hit.
