The Indianapolis Colts are 2-3 through five games, and with games against the Tennessee Titans and Miami Dolphins coming up in the next two weeks, it looked like they had a real shot at getting over .500.

But they will have to do so without one of their most important offensive cornerstones.

Wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. is expected to miss multiple weeks because of a back injury, per Adam Schefter.

For the last few years, Pittman has been the Colts’ main weapon in their passing game, and last season, he had 109 catches for 1,152 yards, both of which were career highs.

So far this season, he has caught 22 passes for 238 yards and a touchdown in five games.

Fortunately for Indianapolis, wideout Alex Pierce has blossomed and is leading them in receiving yards (368) and receiving touchdowns (3) this season.

However, they’re very much a banged-up team right now.

Quarterback Anthony Richardson sat out Week 5’s loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars with an oblique injury, while star running back Jonathan Taylor is sidelined with an ankle injury.

Richardson struggled in his first four games this year, throwing six interceptions, which is tied for the league lead, and completing just 50.6 percent of his pass attempts, while Taylor has struggled to stay healthy over the last couple of seasons.

After Week 7, the Colts’ schedule gets tougher, as they will play the Houston Texans and Minnesota Vikings on the road before returning home to host the Buffalo Bills, so it could be tough sledding for them for a while.
