Former Manchester United star Dimitar Berbatov heaped praise on defender Jonny Evans following the Red Devils’ goalless Premier League draw against Aston Villa on the road.
The Red Devils continued their winless streak with a frustrating result at Villa Park. They lacked the cutting edge in the final third and ended up sharing the spoils with no goals involved.
Evans was handed the man of the match after the game and Berbatov was appreciative of his efforts. However, he added that the rest of the team should take notice and play better.
He said: “I’m trying to find the right words here. It’s not good enough. Jonny Evans credit to him but anyone younger than him should take notice and play better.”
United have had their worst start to a Premier League campaign after seven games. They are currently languishing in the 14th spot in the table with just eight points on the board.
Erik ten Hag was under immense pressure coming into the game and we won’t be surprised if he is sacked during the international break.
