Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson says Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane is the “most difficult” forward he has come up against as a professional player.
Speaking to ESPN Brasil, the Brazilian international said he has faced some outstanding No.9s in his career up until now but Kane is the one that stands out from the rest:
“Man, I’ve faced a few strikers, especially in the Premier League. But I think the most difficult one, the one I’ve seen with the most quality, is Harry Kane.”
“He has an absurd quality, both inside the box and outside, when he comes out to receive play, he has a lot of quality. So, from my point of view, he was one of the best strikers I’ve ever faced.”
Ederson has faced some top strikers while playing for City
In the Premier League, the keeper has come up against the likes of Liverpool’s Mo Salah, Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Leicester’s Jamie Vardy, who have all won the Golden Boot during their careers.
Of course, you can’t forget Cristiano Ronaldo who returned for his second spell at Manchester United, but Ederson seems to rate Kane above all of them, which does demonstrate what a player the England captain is.
Aguero and Haaland would probably have been candidates if they weren’t teammates
Considering their goal records, both Sergio Aguero and Erling Haaland would have been up there in Ederson’s estimation if they weren’t already City players.
Aguero scored 260 goals during his decade-long spell at the club, while Haaland is set to break every record if he remains at the Etihad for the long term. The Norwegian international has bagged 100 goals for the Cityzens despite only joining the Premier League champions at the start of the 2022/23 season.
