Palmeiras wonderkid Estevao Willian has revealed the reason behind joining Chelsea amid interest from elite European clubs.
The teenager was the subject of immense interest earlier this year, but the Blues eventually won the race to land his signature.
Willian will be joining them in the summer of 2025. In an interview with The Guardian, the youngster has now revealed why he chose Chelsea.
He said: “I decided for Chelsea because of their planning. I was very pleased with that.
“Not just for me, but also for my family. It was the club that believed in me and trusted in my work. I hope I can pay that back.”
The 17-year-old has already made a huge impression in Brazil. He has nine goals and seven assists in just 23 league games this term.
Willian has been exceptional from the right wing position for Palmeiras. He has averaged more than two dribbles per encounter.
He has already been compared to Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal for his talent and he could take the Premier League by storm next term.
