The NFL Draft, in a lot of ways, is like gambling.

Teams can have great odds, like having the No. 1 overall pick, for example, but not having that player pan out.

Similarly, teams can have terrible odds of finding the next superstar, but somehow find them in the seventh round.

The Washington Commanders had the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 draft, and so far, Jayden Daniels has looked like he should have gone No. 1.

Daniels was a debated prospect coming into the league, even though he was coming off a season where he won the Heisman Trophy.

Some people believed that his game would never translate to the pros, but the Commanders QB has certainly started to figure it out.

He’s made the fanbase believe again and has also gained plenty of respect and notoriety around the league.

Daniels captured the attention of Michael Lombardi, a former NFL GM.

Lombardi talked about Daniels’ greatness on the Pat McAfee Show on Thursday, highlighting what the rookie has done to this point.

“I marvel at what Jayden Daniels is doing,” Lombardi said, adding, “Dan Quinn and Kliff Kingsbury have done a great job.”

Lombardi seems to believe that Daniels is the future of the Commanders organization, a player that has quickly found his footing in the NFL.

He’s only played four games, but that can be enough time for talented scouts and people who have been around the game to know a good player when they see one.

Daniels is on a fast track to the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, assuming his high level of play continues.
