Even though he was the eighth overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft, Jarace Walker hasn’t seen a lot of time with his Indiana Pacers.

He only played for an average of 10.3 minutes per game last season and has been even more scarce during the opening days of 2024-25.

Because of that, it’s not surprising to hear he may be on the move.

According to Evan Sidery, Walker is a “potentially intriguing player to watch on the trade market, if Indiana decides to make another win-now move.”

Walker is putting up 3.8 points and 1.5 rebounds per game this season, shooting 44.4% from the floor.

That is a slight step up from his 3.6 points per game last season.

Walker looked pretty good in the Summer League but he didn’t do as well in the preseason, which raised a lot of questions about his role on the team.

The Pacers have many players to choose from, and a lot of expectations for this season.

They went all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals last year and their hope is to do that again.

But some fans think they are a piece or two away from truly being contenders.

If the front office decides that’s true, they will need to make moves, which means they might have to commit to some trades.

Walker could be at the top of the list when it comes to trade assets.

He hasn’t proven himself yet but he obviously has talent.

Perhaps another team will be able to unlock something more in Walker and get the most out of him.

And maybe they can give the Pacers something good in exchange for him.

Walker might stick around with Indiana all season and he might end up getting more minutes too.

But if the Pacers decide they want to shake things up so they can win now, you can expect to see Walker pack his bags.
