'It's Bogus' 'Never' 'A Lose/Lose Situation' Fans Question Reports Linking Key City Figure With Departure

The FA have “sounded out” Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola about taking the England job, according to The Times.

It is believed that the 53-year-old has yet to give a response to the approach as he is still mulling over his future at the Etihad.

Guardiola’s contract with City expires at the end of the season but fans on X don’t believe he should leave the Premier League champions for the Three Lions:

Guardiola has expressed interest in international management

Speaking earlier this year, the Spaniard confirmed that he would be open to managing at international level:

“A national team. I would like to train a national team for a World Cup or a European Championship. I would like that. I don’t know who would want me! To work for a national team they have to want you, just like a club.”

From the sound of things, Guardiola does now have a country that wants to hire him, and that may be why he is thinking things over.

Could he extend his stay at City?

There have been conflicting reports on whether Guardiola is open to remaining with the Cityzens beyond this season.

The fact that close ally Txiki Begiristain is leaving does raise further question marks but, for now, it seems like that he hasn’t made a final decision.
