Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock celebrated 30 years of ‘Speed’ with a special screening in Los Angeles

Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock reunited for an adrenaline rush three decades after Speed.

According to People, the 1994 iconic thriller marked its 30th anniversary with the reunion of Reeves and Bullock, both 60, at a special screening in Los Angeles during Beyond Fest at the American Cinematheque’s Egyptian Theatre.

In addition to the co-stars’ reunion, Speed director Jan De Bont was also in attendance, gracing the event with his onstage talk.

“We knew we were doing something wacky,” said Reeves, who played SWAT officer Jack Traven, the character that boards a bus rigged to detonate a bomb if its speed drops below 50 mph.

“I was behind the wheel of a projectile, so I was just happy to be alive at the end of the day,” joked Bullock, who portrayed Annie Porter, a passenger on the bus who helps prevent its explosion.

The award-winning Speed proceeded with a sequel in 1997, Speed 2: Cruise Control, starring Bullock alongside Jason Patric and Willem Dafoe, which was a box office bomb.

On the work front, Reeves will reprise his role as John Wick in the 2025 Ana de Armas spinoff, Ballerina, and play an angel in Aziz Ansari’s upcoming Good Fortune.

Meanwhile, Bullock’s upcoming projects include a sequel to Practical Magic, co-starring Nicole Kidman.
