EVANSTON, Ill. – Wildcats standout Maddie Zimmer has been named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. This marks the first time in her career that Zimmer has earned the award, adding to an already illustrious list of achievements for the senior midfielder.
Zimmer was instrumental in helping Northwestern clinch back-to-back regular season Big Ten titles, playing key roles in victories over Michigan and Michigan State this past week. In a thrilling overtime win against Michigan, Zimmer’s solo run set up the game-winning goal, and she added an assist. She followed that performance with one goal and one assist in the Wildcats’ victory over Michigan State, cementing her status as a critical offensive force.
