Manchester City defender John Stones did not feature in the loss to Bournemouth at the weekend due to a foot injury.
Speaking about the defender’s fitness, manager Pep Guardiola said that the issue could lead to him remaining on the treatment table until the next international break:
“And John has a fasciitis splinter in the feet and today [against Bournemouth] he was not ready. I don’t know if he’ll be back for the next two games.”
Stones has not featured regularly in the Premier League this season but the absence of other players in defence means it is a major blow for the Cityzens.
