Dayaram Singh, a senior scientist in the mushroom department at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa, has shared a simple recipe for these unique biscuits, which you can easily make at home.
Recipe To Make Mushroom Biscuits at Home
- To prepare mushroom biscuits, start by washing and drying 100 grams of mushrooms thoroughly before grinding them into a powder. In a large mixing bowl, combine 300 grams of wheat flour, 300 grams of refined flour, and 300 grams of sugar, mixing them well.
- Next, add ghee to the mixture as needed, along with cardamom and chopped almonds for added flavour. Blend the ingredients until the mixture has a crumbly texture. Then, incorporate the mushroom powder into the mixture and combine everything thoroughly. Gradually add milk to form a soft dough, ensuring it is neither too hard nor too soft.
- Once your dough is ready, roll it out and cut it into your desired shapes. Bake the biscuits in a preheated oven at 180 degree Celsius for 15-20 minutes. When they turn golden brown, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool.
Mushroom biscuits are not only delicious but also rich in protein, fibre, and vitamins. These biscuits can help control weight while providing essential nutrition to the body.
