Prince Harry, who’s said to be excited to see his father King Charles, has received a new warning as he’s set to attend a charity event in the UK on Monday.
The Duke of Sussex, who’s gracing the poignant WellChild Awards in Britain, won’t be able to meet with his father King Charles yet again, according to a new report.
According to an expert, one royal keen for them not to meet up is the King’s wife and Harry’s stepmother, Queen Camilla.
Writing in the Sunday Times, the Daily Beast royal editor Tom Sykes said: “Neither side would definitively tell me whether a meeting is planned on this trip, but all the indications so far are that it is not.
“The King is in Scotland, gathering his strength for a forthcoming trip to Australia. The Queen, her friends have told me, is keen that Charles doesn’t get unnecessarily stressed out and is not encouraging a meeting.”
“For Harry, there can be no meaningful rehabilitation as a royal without reconciliation. His father’s recent health scare has added a sense of urgency to that quest.”
Harry has been a patron of the charity for 16 years, which supports seriously ill children and their families. He is a regular at their annual awards ceremony, attending last year, and this year will present one of the inspirational winners with their awards and also deliver a speech.
However, there is currently one sign that shows that father and son are unlikely to meet despite both being in the UK – and it is down to the King’s schedule. On Saturday, Charles and Queen Camilla were at the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh to mark its 25th anniversary. And it is believed that Charles has remained north of the border in the days since, staying at Balmoral.
Harry’s event is in London, meaning they will be hundreds of miles apart – and it also seems that his visit to the UK will be fleeting, with him dashing in and then out of the country again following tonight’s poignant awards ceremony.
